On the bright side, at least the Homecoming festivities won’t have to be condensed to accommodate a football game.
Much to nobody’s surprise, the Arizona Wildcats’ next home game on Oct. 27 against Oregon will kick off at 7:30 p.m. MST. It will be broadcast on ESPN.
Combined with the already determined 7:30 p.m. kickoff for the Colorado game on Friday, Nov. 2, Arizona will have started 15 consecutive home games at 6 p.m. or later. The last game at Arizona Stadium to start before that was Oct. 15, 2016 when the Wildcats and USC kicked off at 12:30 p.m.
The only hope for a non-night game in Tucson is the Territorial Cup against Arizona State, scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 24. That’s been a daytime kickoff the last two times it was played in Tempe, including last year, but hasn’t been before dark at home since 2014.
