It’s Homecoming this week for the Arizona Wildcats, but Vegas doesn’t really care about that. The sharps only worry about the numbers, not the pomp and circumstance.

Thus, Arizona has been installed as a significant underdog for the Oct. 27 home game against the Oregon Ducks. How big? The opening line, per VegasInsider, is 9.5 points.

It’s the third consecutive home game Arizona will be underdogs for, as previous foes USC and California were also favored at Arizona Stadium. The spread is the largest for the Wildcats as a home underdog since Nov. 12, 2016, when Colorado was favored by 17.5 (and won 49-24).

The last time Arizona was able to cover at home when underdog by more than seven points was Sept. 24, 2016 when it fell 35-28 to 17-point favorite Washington.

Arizona (3-5, 2-3 Pac-12) is coming off an 0-2 road swing against South Division opponents, losing 42-10 at Utah on Oct. 12 and then 31-30 at UCLA on Saturday night. Oregon (5-2, 2-2) lost 34-20 at Washington State on Saturday.

The Wildcats are 4-4 against the spread this season, going 2-3 ATS as an underdog and 2-2 ATS at home. Oregon is 3-4 ATS.
