Brandon’s thoughts: Mason is a rather large human being. Honestly, I’ve never seen a player with his size on Arizona’s D-line. I can see him, Myles Tapusoa and PJ Johnson all on the field at once and just being a problem for opposing offensive fronts. Throw in JB Brown and Jalen Harris, and the defensive front will be the best I’ve seen at Arizona in a long time. Mason is quick for his size, but I think he will need to quicken his first step after the snap. Overall a solid get for this staff.
Gabe’s Thoughts: It’s clear that the staff wants something bigger and immediate on the defensive line and Mason fills both those needs. Arizona is going to have a lot of size on the line next season and Mason figures to be in a position to play a lot of snaps. Despite being 6-foot-7 and 300-plus pounds, Mason can truly play any position on the line. He’s quick, strong and has the size so I’m comfortable with however coach Iona Uigalelei decides to plug him in.
Trevon’s thoughts on being a Wildcat: “I’m blessed to be a Wildcat.”
