The Arizona Wildcats have added wide receiver Joshua Szott.
The New Jersey native is a 2018 recruit. Sczott committed to Colgate in December of 2017. He is not ranked by any major scouting service.
“I would like to thank Colgate for everything they have done for me, specifically Coach Hunt, Coach Young, and Coach Bash,” Szott tweeted. “Class program. I would like to thank God for this opportunity to be a wildcat. I am extremely excited.”
Szott is a 6-foot-3, 193-pound product from the Hun School of Princeton. He had a big senior season, catching 41 passes for 1,021 yards and 17 touchdowns. Szott also tallied 329 kick return yards.
Aside from Shawn Poindexter, Shun Brown, and Tony Ellison, Arizona does not have much proven production at receiver, so Szott has an opportunity to make an impact in Tucson.
It’s not clear if Szott will be a walk-on or scholarship player at the UA, but the former seems more likely given the nature of his arrival.
This tweet says Szott runs a 4.5 and has elite speed, hands, feet, and hips:
