The Arizona Wildcats’ special teams had a rough night in Saturday’s loss to Washington, having a punt blocked and muffing another, but there was a bright spot.
Junior kicker Lucas Havrisik was named Pac-12 Special Teams Player of the Week after drilling field goals of 31 and 50 yards against the Huskies, while also sending all five of his kickoffs for touchbacks.
Havrisik is 5 for 7 on field goals for the season, including 2 for 3 on kicks from 50+ yards out. He is 26 for 27 on extra points and has the fifth-best kickoff touchback percentage in the country (84.2).
Havrisik is the second UA player to receive weekly Pac-12 honors this season. True freshman quarterback Grant Gunnell was named Pac-12 Freshman of the Week after making his first career start in the win over UCLA.
