Former Arizona Wildcats cornerback Sammy Morrison will spend his fifth and final season with the San Diego State Aztecs, the school confirmed to the San Diego Union Tribune.
The Leesburg, Virginia native appeared in 20 games as a Wildcat, though none in the 2018 season. Interestingly enough, Morrison’s best season was his freshman year when he made starts against UTEP and Nevada to begin the season.
Morrison redshirted due to injury in 2016 and played in eight games in 2017 as a reserve defensive back and special teams contributor.
Morrison’s father, Darryl, was part of the Desert Swarm defense under Dick Tomey in the 1990s.
Morrison left the UA program before the start of spring practice, though did graduate in May. He was a three-star recruit coming out of Gonzaga Prep in 2015, holding offers to Duke, Virginia, Rutgers, Temple, Boston College, and Buffalo.
