Every position matters in college football. Even on special teams, where a bad kick or a botched snap can mean the difference between a good season and a bad one.

Arizona Wildcats fans are well aware of this, seeing how last season ended with a missed field goal against ASU that would have meant a .500 record and a bowl invite. Too soon?

Anyways, if Arizona finds itself in a similar scenario during the 2020 season or beyond it may involve its latest commitment, California long snapper Kameron Hawkins.

The 5-foot-11, 220-pound Hawkins is a standout at Orange Lutheran High School. He doesn’t currently have a star rating or national ranking in 247Sports’ database, but long snappers tend not to get much recognition in that way. But RubioLongSnapping.com, a site that focuses on special teams recruits, considers him the sixth-best long snapper in the 2020 class.

Hawkins’ commitment gives Arizona nine for 2020, two coming in July. Earlier in the month the Wildcats got a pledge from 3-star wide receiver Dyelan Miller.
