The Arizona Wildcats were able to secure the player that started off the 2021 recruiting cycle, Louisiana-based defensive back Kolbe Cage.
High School: Holy Cross School
Hometown: New Orleans, Louisiana
Height: 6-foot
Weight: 210 pounds
2020 Stats: 5 tackles, 1 INT (incomplete)
Offers: Arizona, Houston Baptist, Louisiana-Lafayette, Nevada, South Alabama, Southern
247Sports Composite Ranking: No. 1,269th nationally, No. 83 OLB, No. 38 in Louisiana
Analysis: Cage very much reminds me, and quite a few of the staff, of ex-Arizona standout Tra’Mayne Bondurant. He his a big, stout defensive back that can play in the box but is athletic enough to cover receivers.
Don’t let his above stat line fool you, that is a byproduct of his coaches not updating them. He can, and does, produce.
In talking with him, opposing teams avoided throwing on his side of the field. Most of his tackles came from him sprinting to the other side of the field. Out of four or five passes thrown to his man, Cage only allowed one completion. Not bad if you ask me.
He doesn’t have senior film but he does have junior film and film of one of his games this year.
