The Arizona Wildcats signed one of their most productive commits, 3-star Dallas-area defensive back Javione Carr on Wednesday.

High School: Sam Houston High School

Hometown: Arlington, Texas

Height: 6-foot

Weight: 175 pounds

2020 Stats: 117 tackles, 2 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery, 1 blocked FG

Offers: Arizona, Arkansas State, Kansas, Kansas State, New Mexico, North Texas, Northwestern, Texas Tech, Tulane, UTSA

247Sports Composite Ranking: No. 1,038 nationally, No. 84 safety, No. 151 in Texas

Analysis: Carr is one of the most productive players in this class, and one of the most underrated.

He has reckless abandon while playing and plays with aggression. He is incredibly effective at playing the run and is not afraid to hit anyone. He already has pretty good tackling form, though there will be some things he’ll need to clean up in that area.

Carr is extremely active and does a good job at reading and reacting to plays. It seems he is always around the ball, as evidenced by his 117 tackles as a defensive back. In one of his games this past season, he racked up 26 tackles....as a defensive back.

He will need to gain more weight but that shouldn’t be an issue at the next level. And, as I mentioned above, he’ll need to solidify his tackling technique.

He is someone I can see as making an immediate impact his freshman season.
