The Arizona Wildcats signed 3-star California athlete James Bohls, one of their biggest upside players, on Wednesday.
High School: San Clemente High School
Hometown: San Clemente, California
Height: 6-foot-2
Weight: 210 pounds
2020 Stats: Haven’t played, season pushed to early 2021
Offers: Arizona, Boise State, Colorado State, Hawaii, New Mexico, San Diego State, San Jose State, UNLV, Utah State, Washington State, Wyoming
247Sports Composite Ranking: No. 1,103 nationally, No. 64 RB, No. 88 in California
Analysis: Bohls is very intriguing. He is a very good running back, running with power and speed. However, he is coming to Arizona as a linebacker.
It isn’t a position that is foreign to him, as he does play LB/DB for San Clemente. It just wasn’t what I was expecting when I heard about it when he committed.
But that’s what makes him interesting. He has a good build sitting at 6-foot-2 and around 210 pounds. He has the speed, strength, attitude, and aggression to play linebacker. The small sample size we have of him playing defense and coverage teams shows good tackling form.
Bohls has a lot of upside on defense and I’m eager to see what he can do.
