Former Arizona Wildcat linebacker Brooks Reed has the opportunity to step on a NFL field for the first time in more than a year when he suits up for the Tennessee Titans Sunday.
Reed was added to the Titans active roster from the team’s practice squad ahead of Tennessee’s game against the Detroit Lions at 11 a.m. MST.
The Tucson native was signed to the Titans practice squad on November 28.
A week later, Reed was placed on the injured reserve with a season ending hamstring injury.
Whether Reed sees action Sunday or not, his mere appearance on the playoff-bound Titans is a testament to his perseverance as an athlete.
This will mark Reed’s 10th season in the NFL after being selected by the Houston Texans in the 2nd round of the 2011 draft.
He has logged 22.5 career sacks in the NFL.
In four seasons with the Wildcats, Reed had 114 tackles (25 for loss) and 17 sacks. He was first-team All-Pac-10 in 2010 when he had six sacks and 10 tackles for loss
