The Arizona Wildcats’ wide receiver room, once overflowing with talent and options, is starting to look rather empty.
Rivals.com is reporting that true freshman wide receiver Ma’jon Wright is the latest UA receiver to enter the NCAA transfer portal. Since the 2020 season ended the Wildcats have also lost redshirt junior Stanley Berryhill III, redshirt sophomore Jamarye Joiner and sophomore Boobie Curry among a slew of player departures.
Wright, a 3-star prospect in the 2020 class that Arizona landed out of Florida, was second on the UA in receptions (15) and receiving yards (176) and also had a touchdown catch. He started two of Arizona’s final three games.
Since Arizona fired Kevin Sumlin on Dec. 12 it has seen five players transfer, including sophomore quarterback Grant Gunnell, while redshirt freshman offensive lineman Jamari Williams entered the transfer portal a few days prior to the season-ending 70-7 home loss to ASU.
