College football’s early signing period is less than two weeks away, and at least one Class of 2021 prospect has decided the Arizona Wildcats are no longer his top choice.

Ja’Quez Harvey, a 3-star defensive end from Los Angeles, announced Thursday he had decommitted from the UA.

The 6-foot-4, 246-pound Harvey is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 1,139 player in the 2021 class, as well as the 69th-best strong-side defensive end in the country and the No. 92 prospect in California. He had committed to Arizona on July 28 over offers from ASU, Colorado, Fresno State, Kansas and Utah, among others.

Harvey is the third player to decommit from Arizona’s 2021 class. Junior college offensive tackle Cade Parrish did so in October, while 3-star California athlete Cole Batson backed off his pledge in August and has since committed to Boston College.

Arizona still has 22 known commitments for 2021, with several expected to begin signing on Dec. 16.
