The Territorial Cup will be a battle of winless teams, but in the eyes of the oddsmakers one is much worse than the other.
The Arizona Wildcats have opened as 8-point underdogs for its matchup Friday at home against ASU, according to VegasInsider.com.
It’s the third consecutive time ASU (0-2) has been favored at Arizona Stadium, while the spread is the largest in the Sun Devils’ favor in Tucson since being 14-point favorites in 2004. Arizona won that game 34-27 and has covered the last three times it was a home dog against ASU, though in 2018 that was as a 1.5-point underdog in a game it lost 41-40 after blowing a huge lead.
Arizona (0-4) has been the underdog in its last eight games during what is now an 11-game losing streak, only covering twice. The Wildcats were 12.5-point dogs at ASU last year, losing by 10, and as 15-point home dogs against USC last month they fell by four.
