Among the more egregious shortcomings of the Arizona Wildcats in recent years has been their inability to sign many top in-state football recruits, particularly those in their own backyard.
That trend appears to be continuing in the 2021 class.
Jonah Miller, a 4-star offensive tackle from Tucson's Sahuaro High School, announced his top six schools on Tuesday and the UA wasn't on the list. Even worse: ASU was.

The 6-foot-8, 285-pound Miller is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 256 player in the 2021 recruiting class. He's the 25th-best offensive tackle in the country and No. 5 player in Arizona (and top prospect in Tucson).
Miller was offered by the UA in January 2019, after ASU and Colorado had already done so.
A senior this fall, last season Miller plates for Salpointe Catholic and was teammates with 5-star 2020 products Bijan Robinson (Texas) and Latham Ransom (Ohio State), neither of whom gave the UA serious consideration.
