Once the only power-conference football program without a commitment from the 2021 class just over a month ago, the Arizona Wildcats are finally gaining steam on the recruiting front.
Evan Branch-Haynes, a 3-star defensive lineman from San Francisco, announced his pledge to Arizona on Sunday:
The 6-foot-2, 270-pound Branch-Haynes is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 241 player in California and the 109th-best defensive tackle in the country. He is not currently included in the site’s composite rankings.
Arizona was the only FBS program to have offered Branch-Haynes so far, per 247Sports, with his other offers coming from FCS schools Idaho, Montana and Stetson.
Branch-Haynes is Arizona’s fourth 2021 commit, the same number as defending Pac-12 South Division champion Utah as well as Stanford and one more than Colorado. He joins 3-star linebackers Jackson Bailey and Kolbe Cage, who both committed in early May, and 3-star offensive lineman JT Hand, who came on board on May 31.
