The Arizona Wildcats continued their recruiting hot streak Monday, landing a commitment from three-star running back Montrell Johnson Jr.

From De La Salle High School in New Orleans, Johnson is ranked as the 1,094th player in the country, 74th-best running back, and the No. 33 player in Louisiana by 247Sports’ composite rankings.

He is listed at 5-foot-10, 184 pounds, but lists himself at 6-feet, 205 pounds.

Johnson holds 14 offers and chose Arizona over schools such as Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Colorado, Kansas, Duke and Virginia among others. The Wildcats offered Johnson on June 17.

He becomes the 13th member of Arizona’s 2021 class and the fourth offensive player. All 13 players have committed since May. Johnson’s commitment comes two days after the Wildcats landed three-star linebacker D.J. Fryar.

Here are Johnson’s junior season highlights.
