Now-former Arizona Wildcats offensive lineman Jon Jacobs is transferring to Charlotte, he announced Friday on Twitter.
The grad transfer appeared in 17 career games at Arizona after joining the program as a walk-on in 2016. That included 11 this past season, including one start at right tackle against Utah.

Jacobs is originally from Gainesville, Virginia, so a move to Charlotte is fairly close to home.
The 49ers play in Conference USA, which is still set to play football this fall. However, that has nothing to do with Jacobs’ departure from Arizona. He wasn’t on the spring roster before the coronavirus crisis shut down sports in March.
Jacobs has one year of eligibility left and can play immediately.
