Senior kicker Lucas Havrisik announced Saturday that he is returning to the Arizona Wildcats for the 2021 season, what will be his fifth year in the program.

It is possible because all FBS players were given a free year of eligibility in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

Havrisik has a big leg but has been inconsistent throughout his UA career, particularly on field goals. (You can almost always count on him to send a kickoff for a touchback).

However, he was a bright spot for the Wildcats in 2020, going 9 for 10 on extra points and 6 for 7 on field goals, including makes from 42 and 51 yards.

Havrisik’s return brings some steadiness to an Arizona special teams unit that struggled under former head coach Kevin Sumlin. And if Havrisik has another strong season, he could find himself on the radar of NFL teams come next April.
