After entering the transfer portal, withdrawing for it, and then entering it again, Arizona Wildcats freshman wide receiver Ma’jon Wright announced Saturday that he is transferring to Middle Tennessee State. (H/T to Justin Spears of the Arizona Daily Star for spotting it.)
The former three-star recruit from Florida was second on Arizona in receptions (15) and receiving yards (176) in 2020. He also had a touchdown catch and started two of UA’s final three games.
While the new coaching staff wasn’t able to get Wright to stay in Tucson, it did get convince fellow wideouts Jamarye Joiner, Boobie Curry and Stanley Berryhill III to withdraw from the transfer portal and return to the team.
That means Arizona is returning four of its top five receivers from the 2020 season.
The Wildcats also added former Washington State quarterback Gunner Cruz via the transfer portal Saturday.
