Jedd Fisch and the Arizona Wildcats continued their hot streak on the recruiting trail on Friday. This time, however, they started off the 2022 class with a bang.

Chandler-Hamilton 3-star offensive lineman Grayson Stovall announced his commitment to Arizona.

Stovall is listed at 6-foot-4 and 281 pounds. He is ranked as the 31st offensive guard, 19th player in Arizona, and 803rd player in the nation, per 247Sports composite rankings.

Stovall has nine offers, with six coming from Power 5 teams. Besides Arizona, they include Arizona State, Charlotte, Colorado State, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan State, and Utah.

Hamilton is a top three powerhouse in Arizona, so establishing a pipeline there is crucial. New Arizona quarterbacks coach/passing game coordinator Jimmie Dougherty has family ties to the Huskies. His father is the defensive coordinator there.

That did play a part in Stovall’s recruitment, no doubt, but other events helped push the decision along.

On Saturday, Jan. 23, Stovall made his way down to Tucson for a visit. He wasn’t able to meet or talk with the staff face-to-face but he was able to take in the sights.

He was a huge part of the Huskies offensive line in 2020. He earned First Team All-State and First Team All-Region in the 6A Premier league. With his skillset and size, he should be able to solidify a spot on Arizona’s interior line.
