The Arizona Wildcats saw a slew of players enter the NCAA transfer portal in December, including five wide receivers, a clear indication they weren’t happy with the direction of the program.
Now three of them have reversed course.
Sophomore Boobie Curry is the latest UA receiver to change his mind about transferring, officially withdrawing his name from the portal according to Rivals.com. He joins redshirt sophomore Jamarye Joiner and freshman Ma’jon Wright in backing out of the portal on Thursday, signaling their return to the UA.
The 6-foot-2, 203-pound Curry has yet to live up to expectations at Arizona, catching 16 passes for 157 yards with zero touchdowns in two seasons, but he’s got tremendous upside. A former top-200 prospect from the 2019 recruiting class, he was high school teammates with ex-UA quarterback Grant Gunnell, who has transferred to Memphis.
A fourth receiver to leave the UA, redshirt junior Stanley Berryhill III, has transferred to Miami (Ohio), while redshirt junior Drew Dixon remains in the portal.
