Last weeke the Arizona Wildcats lost a good defensive commit in Zeke Berry but quickly gained a solid defensive prospect in Anaheim linebacker Jacob Manu.

Manu pulled the trigger and will be joining two of his Servite High School teammates, Noah Fifita and Keyan Burnett, in Tucson for college ball.

Early on Tuesday, Manu received his 247Sports Composite ranking. He comes in at .8526, putting him at a solid mid 3-star. He comes in just outside the Top 1,000 as the No. 1,004 player in the nation. He is the No. 98 linebacker and the No. 71 player in California.

My opinion of Manu is high. He plays with a nastiness and aggressiveness that you want in a defensive player. He is a productive linebacker in one of the toughest leagues in the nation, racking up 44 tackles, 4 tackles for loss and a sack. A lot of people will point out his size, 5-foot-11 and 210 pounds, but that doesn’t matter to me. He plays way bigger. National and West Coast recruiting experts agree with me.

These are solid rankings and it is possible he could see that increase by the time he graduates.

Overall a good get for Fisch and Company and he will be a good piece in Don Brown’s defense in the future.
