We’re No. 1?

The Arizona Wildcats have sole possession of first place on an infamous list, their 16-game losing streak the longest active skid in the country after Massachusetts beat Connecticut 27-13 on Saturday afternoon to end its 16-game run of defeats.

Arizona (0-4, 0-1 Pac-12) hosts UCLA (3-2, 1-1) at 7:30 p.m. MT Saturday, hoping to win its first game since Oct. 5, 2019. The Wildcats have won the last two meetings with the Bruins in Tucson, most recently a 20-17 victory in September 2019.

Other streaks Arizona is looking to snap tonight are eight in a row at Arizona Stadium—the UCLA win was the last of those—and 13 straight against Pac-12 opponents. Both, like the overall losing streak, are also the longest such stretches in school history.

The odds of Arizona ending the skid aren’t great tonight aren’t great, at least according to the oddsmakers. The Wildcats are 16-point underdogs, per VegasInsider.com, which would make them +550 on the moneyline.

Arizona last won outright at home as a double-digit dog in 2013 when it crushed Oregon 42-16 as 18.5-point dogs.
