Arizona’s spring football game won’t just be the first chance to see how the Wildcats look under Jedd Fisch and his staff. It will also be an opportunity to check in with two of the program’s all-time greats.
Rob Gronkowski confirmed on Twitter on Tuesday that he and fellow ex-UA star Tedy Bruschi will serve as coaches for Arizona’s spring game, which is scheduled for April 24.
@TedyBruschi it’s going down Tedy!! I am officially coaching the Arizona Spring game VS. the great Tedy Bruschi! Bear Down Ladies and Gents! The Gronk (Zona) Zoo is gonna be popping!

Gronk, fresh off winning his fourth Super Bowl title (but first with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers) ,will be making his first visit to campus in a decade. He last was at the UA for the 2011 spring game, which came following his rookie season with the New England Patriots.
The spring game will also serve as the first visit by Bruschi since he was hired by Fisch on Feb. 1 to be a senior advisor. The seeds of that arrangement were first planted shortly after Fisch became head coach in late December and met with Bruschi back in Massachusetts.
Gronk’s tweet alluded to the Zona Zoo—which he referred to as the Gronk Zoo—would be on hand for the game. The school has not confirmed if fans will be allowed to attend the spring game, but with baseball and softball starting to allow limited attendance this week it could be possible, something Fisch noted on Twitter.
@ZonaZooOfficial whatever the final number of allowed attendance, we need you there! I’ll make sure the food and music is waiting!!!! #SpringGame21 #Itspersonal. https://t.co/CachkgGJP7 pic.twitter.com/f64RaS3dUI
