With six commitments in the 2022 recruiting class, the Arizona Wildcats are already much farther along than a year ago when they went into May as the only power-conference team in the country without a pledge.
Odds are they’ll be getting a few more in the near future with the number of 2022 prospects showing interest in coming to Tucson, the latest being 3-star Texas defensive tackle Tre Emory, who has Arizona in his top six along with Arkansas, Baylor, Oklahoma State, SMU and TCU.

The 6-foot-4, 290-pound Emery is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 888 player in the 2022 class as well as the 60th-best defensive tackle and the No. 116 prospect from Texas. He has offers from 15 schools, with his Arizona one coming on March 2.
Emory, who was named the Texas District 9-5A-II Defensive Player of the Year at Mount Pleasant High School, is set to take an official visit to Arizona June 4-6 and also has visits scheduled for Baylor and Oklahoma State.
Arizona’s 2022 class currently ranks 26th in the country, per 247, as third in the Pac-12.
