On Tuesday, Arizona received a commitment from one of the region’s top class of 2022 prospects, athlete TJ Hall of Fresno. He chose the Wildcats over Oregon State, Colorado and several Mountain West programs.
My nephew TJ Hall (@TjHalljr1), one of the top defensive backs in Fresno with double-digit scholarship offers, is committing to the University of Arizona, family sources tell @YahooSports. Congrats neph!!! pic.twitter.com/JjjxLWdBRb— Chris Haynes (@ChrisBHaynes) July 13, 2021
The 6-foot-2, 165-pound Hall plays the wide receiver and corner/safety positions at San Joaquin Memorial High School. He is ranked the 964th player nationally in the 2022 class according to 247Sports Composite, including the No. 83 athlete overall and No. 70 player from California.
Hall is the 11th commitment for Arizona’s 2022 class.
Men lie. Women lie. Numbers don’t. 3 INT and 4 PBU. Corner/Safety, It don’t matter. Had a great weekend at the opening and thank you for having me. @TheOpening @Realrclark25 @ClayMackSkillz @BrandonHuffman @SJMgridiron pic.twitter.com/e4GSbgxly1— Tj Hall jr (@TjHalljr1) July 4, 2021
There’s good reason to believe Cummings was the lead recruiter responsible for bringing Hall to Tucson. Hall’s only offer prior to 2021 was from San Jose State, where Cummings was an assistant coach the previous two seasons.
Arizona was the first power conference program to offer Hall a scholarship back in February, a month after Cummings joined the UA staff.
Hall is the second Arizona class of 2022 commitment from the Central Valley, joining running back Jonah Coleman of Stockton.
