2022 3-star defensive end Russell Davis II commits to Arizona

The Arizona Wildcats have landed a commitment from class of 2022 3-star defensive end Russell Davis II out of Hamilton High School in Chandler.

The 6-foot-3, 215-pound edge rusher chose Arizona over offers from Boston College, Duke, Iowa State and others. The Wildcats were the first program to offer Davis—who also goes by “Deuce”—back in January, and he took an official visit to Tucson in early June.

Davis is ranked as the No. 22 player from Arizona in his class, according to 247 Sports. He becomes UA’s ninth 2022 commit and third from Arizona. One of his Hamilton teammates, offensive lineman Grayson Stovall, is also an Arizona commit.

Davis is the son of former NFL defensive tackle Russell Davis, who played for the Arizona Cardinals from 2000-2005, the Seattle Seahawks in 2006 and won a Super Bowl with the New York Giants in 2007.
