4-star wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan sets commitment date; Arizona in the mix

The Arizona Wildcats have already landed two highly-coveted recruits from Anaheim’s Servite High School for 2022. Will they add a third?

We’ll find out soon as 4-star wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan plans to announce his college decision on Aug. 16, his nephew’s birthday, he told Greg Biggins of 247Sports.

McMillan is believed to be choosing between Arizona, Oregon and USC. He officially visited Arizona on the weekend of June 11 and Oregon on the weekend of June 18. McMillan visited the UA with Servite quarterback Noah Fifita and tight end Keyan Burnett. Both wound up committing to Arizona.

“I loved it out there and had a great visit,” McMillan told Biggins of his trip to Arizona. “For me, going out there with Noah (Fifita) and Keyan (Burnett) was really special because I could definitely feel the three of us possibly going there together . The coaching staff and the environment is just unbelievable. Coach (Jedd) Fisch is such an incredible person and he really cares for the players as well as his coaching staff.”

247Sports composite rankings peg McMillan as the No. 62 player and No. 5 wide receiver in the 2022 class. The Orange County Register recently ranked McMillan as the No. 1 wide receiver in the region.

“His speed, size (6-4, 185), jumping ability, sure hands and overall athleticism make McMillan a matchup challenge for even the best cornerbacks in Southern California,” Steven Fryer wrote. “During this past spring’s football season, McMillan was at his best in Servite’s biggest games. He had six receptions for 107 yards and a 32-yard touchdown catch against Mater Dei. McMillan, All-Trinity League first team last season and All-CIF in volleyball, selected Arizona, Oregon and USC as his finalists from a long list of college scholarship offers.”
