The 2023 Early Signing Period is finally here! The Arizona Wildcats welcomed numerous new players to the team last month.

One such player is 3-star, PNW tight end Charlie Crowell.

His signing day profile can be found here. Read on below to learn a little more about one of the new additions to the Wildcat Football program.

AZ Desert Swarm: What is your favorite hobby?

Charlie Crowell: “In the winter, I snowboard. So I’ll go up to the mountain that’s about 20 minutes away with friends. In the summer, I’ll go out to the lakes around Bend and have lake days with friend’s boats and camping with friends. Going to our river in Bend and swimming or floating in it. Those are just some of the things we do here.”

What is your favorite post-game meal?

“After my home football games, me, all the football players, and the students at the game all go to a local authentic Mexican restaurant. I usually get myself a big burrito and down it in a few minutes. So, I’d probably say Mexican food for post-game meal.”

What is your go-to pre-game hype song?

“I love Dreams & Nightmares by Meek Mill. It’s the first song I listen to before each game.”

What is the fondest memory you have of your high school career?

“By far winning a State championship my junior year. It’s like the greatest feeling ever. I’ve been craving it ever since then, so I’m hoping I can get one in basketball this winter. It just felt great to see my team’s hard work pay off.”

What is your greatest strength on the field and what is the part of your game you’d like to work on?

“I’m a traditional tight end that lines up in line. I’ll say I’m strong at most aspects of being a tight end. I’ve been told by many college coaches that my ball skills are my strongest. I’m also a good blocker but I want to be a dominant blocker. So that’s where I want to improve the most.”

Which 2024 class member are you closest with?

“I’m closest with Brandon Phelps and Adam Mohammed. I was on my official visit with both of them and we all got along real well. I’ve stayed in touch with both of them ever since.”

What are your thoughts on Arizona’s 2023 season?

“I’ve always wanted to play for a program that wins. I could tell after going on visits and seeing the progress the team made from the staff’s first year to second, that they were going to have a special 2023 season. It was so fun to watch and it really made me feel so confident with my decision. I couldn’t have picked a better school, I believe. Saturday’s were one of my favorite days of the week, just because watching the Wildcats was so much fun. I think the seasons to come will be even better than this year.”

What are you looking forward to the most about being an Arizona Wildcat?

“I’m just excited to get to work in Tucson and learn from amazing coaches. I love football and I can’t wait for it to be like a job once I get down there. Also, being with new people in a new place.”
