The first week of the 2024 NFL season is in the books. Eight Arizona alums are on active NFL rosters to begin the season.

Here’s how former Wildcats around the league fared.

Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles, DB, San Francisco 49ers

Flannigan-Fowles secured his first career NFL interception on Monday Night Football, picking off New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers in the third quarter.

Flannigan-Fowles was in the right place and the right time to catch a deflection in mid-air. The interception put the nail in the coffin for the Jets, who went on to lose to the 49ers 32-19.

Flannigan-Fowles also had a tackle and a pass deflection.

Jordan Morgan, OL, Green Bay Packers

Morgan played 65 of the Packers’ 67 offensive snaps in their 34-29 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Morgan played guard, earning a 67.7 grade according to Pro Football Focus (PFF), which was fifth-highest on the team.

Nick Folk, K, Tennessee Titans

Folk converted a 40-yard field goal and made two extra points in the Titans’ 24-17 loss to the Chicago Bears. The 39-year-old Folk is in his 17th year in the NFL.

Roy Lopez, DL, Arizona Cardinals

Lopez played a big role for the Cardinals defense in their near-upset of the Buffalo Bills, recording a sack and earning a strong 84.6 grade from PFF. Lopez received a 90.2 pass rushing grade.

The Cardinals went on to lose to the Bills 34-28.

Christian Roland-Wallace, ST, Kansas City Chiefs

Roland-Wallace played 16 special teams snaps with the Chiefs in their 27-20 win over the Baltimore Ravens. He earned a 68.3 grade according to PFF.

Tony Fields, LB, Cleveland Browns

The Browns defense had a tough day in their 33-17 loss to the Dallas Cowboys, but Fields was a bright spot, recording a pair of tackles and earning a 74.4 grade according to PFF. Unfortunately Fields suffered an ankle injury and is week-to-week, Browns coach Kevin Stefanski told reporters Monday.

Tanner McLachlan, TE, Cincinnati Bengals

McLachlan didn’t play in the Bengals’ 16-10 loss to the New England Patriots.

Jacob Cowing, WR, San Francisco 49ers

The rookie wide receiver didn’t see any offensive snaps in the 49ers’ win over the Jets but he did return a pair of punts, averaging 7.5 yards per return.
