Arizona 2, ASU 1: THE STREAK IS OVER

It finally happened!!

Jason Bartel

The 37 game losing streak versus ASU did not make it to 38.

On senior night in Tempe, Arizona took down the Sun Devils by a score of 2-1.  The game was tied at one through two periods, but the Wildcats started the third with a 5-on-3 advantage.

Captain Ansel Ivens-Anderson stepped up and put in the second Arizona goal of the night right at the beginning of the third, and the Cats held on from there.

Goalie Steven Sisler played out of his mind, allowing just the one ASU goal.  It was a short-handed goal in the first two minutes of the game.  It was the third SHG of the weekend for the Devils, but that was all they would get.

This is huge for so many reasons but I am way too excited to put that into words right now.  This game has been five years in the making, and who knows how this propels the Wildcats moving forward and hopefully into the ACHA tournament.

Man this feels good.
