The Arizona Wildcats are just one win away from advancing out of the regional round and into the second weekend of the NCAA Softball Tournament.
They'll play the Minnesota Golden Gophers on Sunday, a team that they already beat by a score of 5-1 on Saturday.
TIME: 4 PM PT
Should Minnesota win the first game, a second game will be played about 30 minutes after the end of the first game.
Arizona's lack of offense in the first two games of the weekend has been a bit surprising, totaling just nine runs so far against lesser competition. But the complete games by Michelle Floyd and Trish Parks have been a very welcome sight, and is something that this team will need to advance deeper into the postseason.
The winner of the Tucson Regional will play the winner of the Baton Rouge Regional next weekend in the Super Regionals. As it stands right now, ASU is 2-0 and LSU is 2-1, so the most likely scenario heading into Sunday is that the two Arizona schools will face-off in Tucson next weekend for a best-of-three series with a Women's College World Series berth on the line.
But first things first....take care of the Gophers.
