Arizona football recruiting: The highest ranked Wildcats recruits of all-time

Checking out the highest ranked recruits over the last 10 years.

Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

247Sports came out with a neat feature this week, where it ranks all of a team's highest-ranked recruits of all-time, which in actuality means 2005. It has over 240 recruits for the Arizona Wildcats, and the results were pretty interesting to see.

Here is the top 10 list

So turns out that Devin Ross is Arizona's highest ranked commit of all-time. Back in 2006, he was ranked 46th overall, and 3rd among all corner backs. He played in nearly every game through his four years, and amassed 154 career tackles and five interceptions.

In at No. 3 is Nic Costa, who was at Arizona for three years, and appeared in 11 games his sophomore season back in 2003. He left in frustration for more playing time, and ended up going to Portland State to play wide receiver.

And then there are two current NFL players on the list, with Rob Gronkowski and Robert Golden. Gronk's career speaks for itself, and Robert Golden has found great success with the Pittsburgh Steelers over the last few years.

Keenan Walker is someone who I'm very excited about for the recruiting class of 2016. He suffered a torn ACL, and that set him back a year, gray shirting the 2015 season. He'll join the team this spring, and should be a critical piece to the line in a few years.

And as for another current Arizona Wildcat, there's Cam Denson, checking in at No. 10. He hasn't found a ton of success at corner, and is likely making a switch to wide receiver this spring. Although, he has had two interceptions in his first two career bowl games.

You can find the rest of the 247 recruits here. It's pretty interesting stuff to see. Among the 247 listed recruits, there are quite a few highly-ranked guys who are currently on the roster. And for whatever reason, Scooby Wright was not listed, likely because he was a 2-star recruit.

Marquis Ware at No. 13 and Jamardre Cobb at No. 15 are the highest ranked recruits currently on the team. Ware is still a work-in-progress, and Cobb has found success at fullback. Nick Wilson is at No. 19 and Freddie Tagaloa finds himself at No. 20. One unexpected name was Zach Hemmila, who checked in at No. 31.

Other notable guys from this roster include Marcus Griffin (81), Samajie Grant (90), Paul Magloire (91), William Parks (214), Nate Phillips (225). Other notable guys from the past include Adam Hall (18), Ka'Deem Carey (40), Matt Scott (68), Earl Mitchell (97), Brooks Reed (127), Ricky Elmore (128), Antoine Cason (246).
