Arizona football recruiting: Michael Eletise's senior season coming to an end

Catching up with Michael Eletise as his senior season comes to an end

Student Sports

Arizona's top ranked commit for 2016 according to 247Sports, Michael Eletise, is more than ready to get to Arizona. Every now and then I'll exchange messages with his father, Nofo, and talk about Michael's successes on and off the field. I've really enjoyed talking his family throughout his recruitment; Arizona landed a special kid here.

But before Michael heads to Arizona, he must focus on his high school team, who is in the midst of a playoff battle. After starting the season 0-3, things are starting to look up, winning three straight since then. The Kaiser Cougars must win at Waianae and beat Leilehua to end the season to find themselves in the playoffs.

Michael has even been playing on the defensive side of the ball, which could help him in the long run as an offensive lineman. At 6-4 313lbs, that's probably a terrifying sight to see as an opposing quarterback. But he'll fit comfortably in Arizona's offensive line next year at guard, a d could take over on the left side as soon as he arrives on campus.

As the No. 1 ranked recruit in the state of Hawaii, Eletise has received a lot of attention. He ended up having 41+ offers to schools including Alabama, Florida State, Michigan State, and Oklahoma. And when it comes to recruits within the state of Hawaii, they're starting to produce some top national recruits. Maybe, with a little bit of help from Eletise, and even Anu Solomon, Arizona can start tapping into the state of Hawaii.

Eletise will be making his official visit to Arizona on the second weekend of December, according to his father. Also important to note, he's been moving up in the rankings just a bit, once being ranked No. 212 in the nation, he now sits inside the top 200, at 199.
