Arizona football recruiting SitRep: Wildcats host several four-star visitors

Some big time prospects visited Tucson this week

NCAA Football: Arizona at Oregon State Cole Elsasser-USA TODAY Sports

Compared to last week, this week has been extremely slow for the Arizona Wildcats. Since spring ball is done, the coaching staff is starting to hit the recruiting trail hard. Expect things to start picking up in the next few weeks and months.

So let’s get to it and dive into this week’s SitRep.

Jordan Byrd

This past Thursday, a speedy athlete came on Arizona’s radar. Jordan Byrd — 3-star athlete from Manzano High School (Albuquerque, NM) — received an offer from new receivers coach Theron Aych. The staff wants Byrd to visit at the end of April on the 29th. Byrd is definitely interested in visiting the Wildcats to check out the atmosphere, coaches, and players to see if it’s the right fit for him.

Byrd has only taken one unofficial visit thus far. On Saturday he made his way out to San Diego to check out the San Diego State Aztecs. There are more visits that Byrd will be going on. He wants to visit all the schools that have offered him and weigh the pros and cons of each place before deciding on a new home.
