The Arizona Wildcats already have the No. 1 recruiting class in 2018, but they are only about halfway done filling it, and another highly-ranked addition to the class could be Simi Shittu.

The 2018 forward listed his top 10 on Sunday, and Arizona was included along with Kentucky, South Carolina, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Oregon, Connecticut, ASU, Vanderbilt, and New Mexico.

Shittu, from Canada, is the No. 8 player in the 2018 class, according to 247Sports.

Shittu previously attended Montverde Academy in Florida, but now attends Vermont Academy in Saxtons River, Vermont.

Shittu’s scouting report on Scout.com listed his strengths as his athleticism, and his ability to face up and run the floor. His weaknesses are his 3-point range, ballhandling, and low block scoring.

“Simi Shittu, a native of Canada, is a 6-foot-8 power forward prospect with good athleticism and mobility,” his scouting report read before being taken down. “Shittu is a fluid runner and gets up and down the court with ease and purpose. Shittu is quick off his feet and a good leaper. Shittu has a good set of hands and solid touch around the basket. Offensively, Shittu likes to the face the rim and attack from the high post and also spends time getting on the glass hunting down put back opportunities. The next step in his game is adding a go-to move on the block.”

The Wildcats already have a commitment from Shareef O’Neal, a 6-foot-9 forward, in their 2018 class, but head coach Sean Miller said Arizona will be signing five to seven players in 2018, so there is plenty of room to add another forward like Shittu.

Arizona offered Shittu in July.
