A day after the Arizona Wildcats were tied to an FBI investigation regarding illegal activity on the recruiting trail, No. 1 prospect R.J. Barrett reportedly cut the UA from his top five.
The 2018 recruit confirmed that Saturday, listing the Duke Blue Devils, Kentucky Wildcats, and Oregon Ducks as his final three.

Barrett was scheduled to visit the Michigan Wolverines this weekend, but removed them from consideration as well.
The 6-foot-6 Canadian took an official visit to Arizona on Sept. 21, but given how quickly he dropped Arizona after the FBI’s findings went public, the UA was probably behind at least one other school.
Barrett is the first recruit to cut Arizona from his list since Tuesday (at least that we know of).
As of now, Arizona still has the No. 1-ranked recruiting class in the country, but obviously a lot can change before signing day, since the UA is involved in a pretty severe investigation — not to mention one of UA’s 2018 recruits was implicated in it.
