Devonaire Doutrive isn’t the only Birmingham High School prospect the Arizona Wildcats are after.
Arizona is also pursuing his teammate, Christian Koloko, per Evan Daniels of 247Sports.
A lanky 7-footer that checks in at 195 pounds, Koloko is the No. 49 prospect in the 2019 class, per 247Sports.
Arizona is listed as Koloko’s only offer, though he has drawn interest from schools like UCLA, USC, Oregon, and Creighton among others.
Arizona head coach Sean Miller and assistant Mark Phelps watched Doutrive and Koloko take on Shareef O’Neal and Crossroads School on Saturday in the Southern California Division II regional final.
Koloko, a Cameroon native who arrived in the United States this past fall, is considered a raw talent with intriguing physical tools.
“I rebound, block shots and defend,” Koloko told 247Sports. “I want to get better at my defense and offense.”
While Koloko is likely a long way from picking a school — he is a 2019 prospect, after all — Doutrive’s recruitment should be coming to a conclusion relatively soon, seeing that National Signing Day is May 15.
Arizona has zero 2018 commits right now, despite having to replace six players, and it needs any talent it can get right now, so landing Doutrive would be a decent start.
