A late goal by Jada Talley catapulted the Arizona Wildcats to a 1-0 win over No. 11 Cal on Sunday in Berkeley.
It was the first career goal for the freshman, who knocked in her own rebound in the 75th minute at Edwards Stadium.

Arizona improves to 5-3-2 overall and 2-1 in a stacked Pac-12 conference. Cal drops to 8-2-1, their first loss in their last eight games.
Meanwhile, it’s UA’s second win over a top-25 team this season (then-No. 16 Oklahoma), and an important victory for UA’s NCAA Tournament résumé, as head coach Tony Amato believes Arizona needs to finish over .500 to make the postseason.
After an 11-save performance against Stanford, UA goalkeeper Lainey Burdett made four saves in her fourth shutout of the season Sunday vs. the Golden Bears.
Arizona outshot Cal 16-13, including a 9-4 edge in shots on-goal.
Charlotte Brascia had a game-high four shots, while Talley had three. Cali Crisler, Gabi Stoian, and Maddie Bennett each tallied two shots.
Arizona earned a penalty kick in the 83rd minute, but Stoian’s attempt went wide.
The Wildcats lost 1-0 to No. 2 Stanford on Thursday, but only allowed one goal on their Bay Area road trip, a notable feat for their defense, especially since Stanford entered the weekend leading the nation in six offensive categories.
Arizona returns to action Thursday when they host the defending national champion USC Trojans, the No. 7 team in the country.
Arizona then hosts No. 1 UCLA on Sunday.
