The Arizona Wildcats are finally in the win column in Pac-12 play.
A Jill Aguilera goal in the 15th minute proved to be the only score in Arizona’s 1-0 victory over Utah Thursday evening, a result that snaps a 9-game losing streak and gives head coach Becca Moros her first conference win.
Aguilera’s score came on a fortuitous deflection off the Utah goalkeeper, which set up a point-blank shot for the Wildcats senior. Aguilera now has 31 career goals, one shy of tying the program record held by Mallory Miller.

Arizona (4-12, 1-9 Pac-12) spent the remainder of the night seeking an elusive insurance goal, but it ultimately didn’t matter, as goalkeeper Hope Hisey saved all seven shots that came her way to secure the team’s first shutout win of the season.
Utah outshot Arizona 10-7 on the night, with three of the Wildcats’ shots on goal.
Quincy Bonds and Megan Chelf each came close to doubling the Wildcats’ lead in the second half but were denied.
