The Arizona Wildcats finished opening weekend with a 6-0 record, vaulting them into the top 10 of the latest USA Today poll. The team was ranked No. 13 heading into the season, but have jumped up four spots to No. 9.

The Wildcats will be heading to Palm Springs this weekend where they will play in the Mary Nutter Invitational. They'll face the No. 4 LSU Tigers, No. 15 UCF Knights and No. 25 Texas A&M.
In other news, shortstop Mo Mercado leads the Pac-12 in home runs (4) and hits (12), and was named Pac-12 Player of the Week by CollegeSports Madness. Center fielder Eva Watson is tied with Mercado for total bases (27) and leads the conference in runs (10).
Third baseman Katiyana Mauga leads the Pac-12 in RBI (13) and is second in home runs (3). As a team, Arizona leads the Pac-12 in many categories as well.
The Wildcats lead the conference in batting avg (.497), slugging % (.937), OBP (.554), runs scored (63), hits (71), HR (14), 2B (15). Not a bad start, but they'll get tested this weekend.
