Former Arizona aces Danielle O’Toole and Taylor McQuillin are heading to Tokyo.

Team Mexico beat Canada 2-1 on Saturday to officially qualify for the 2020 Summer Olympics.

O’Toole allowed just one run in 14.1 innings of work in qualifiers, with 17 strikeouts. McQuillin pitched four scoreless innings, punching out 11 batters.

Only six teams will be participating in the Olympics. The Americans have already qualified.

Current UA catcher Dejah Mulipola is likely to make Team USA’s roster. Fellow senior Alyssa Palomino-Cardoza will try out for the team in October as well. If they make the team, they will not play for the Wildcats in 2020.

O’Toole used to pitch for Team USA, but was granted a waiver this summer to switch teams.

Former UA pitcher Michelle Floyd and Team Venezuela are still trying to qualify. Floyd threw a two-hit shutout and recorded the game’s lone RBI in a 1-0 victory over Peru on Thursday.
