After Arizona football hosted their annual spring game, Arizona softball scored two touchdowns of their own at Hillenbrand Stadium.

The Wildcats blasted five home runs on their way to a 14-0 run-rule win over Utah in the first game of Saturday’s doubleheader. Dejah Mulipola, Sharlize Palacios, Carlie Scupin, Malia Martinez and Alyssa Palomino-Cardoza all went yard.

Janelle Meoño extended her hitting streak to 23 games with a pair of singles, the longest Arizona hitting streak since 1994.

Through two games against Utah, Arizona has tallied 26 runs and 28 hits, treating the Utes like the last-place team they are. Arizona led 5-0 after two and 14-0 after three.

Alyssa Denham cruised through the Utah lineup, needing just 56 pitches to record 15 outs. She mostly pitched to contact, logging her only two strikeouts in the fifth. The Utes only had three hits, all singles.

Freshman Jazmine Perezchica entered the game for the final inning and made a diving catch in left field.

The second game of the doubleheader, a non-conference game, begins at 4:30 p.m. PT. The Wildcats are 29-8 overall and 8-5 in the Pac-12. They are 20-0 at Hillenbrand this season with 10 run-rule victories.
