OKLAHOMA CITY — No. 11-seeded Arizona softball will face the No. 10-seeded Florida State Seminoles in an elimination game on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. PT on ESPN.
The Wildcats lost to Alabama 5-1 on Thursday before the Seminoles lost 4-0 to UCLA later in the evening.
UA (41-14) and FSU (44-11-1) matched up in Tallahassee in March. The Seminoles took of three in a weekend series. Arizona only scored three runs in those games.
Mariah Lopez threw a three-hit shutout to lead the Wildcats to a 1-0 win. Caylan Arnold and Katheryn Sandercock teamed up to stymie Arizona in the other two games, combining for 23 strikeouts.
The winner of Saturday’s rematch will stay and play in another elimination game at 6:30 p.m. PT.
