Arizona softball is bringing another local kid home, adding Ole Miss infielder Blaise Biringer from the transfer portal on Sunday.
The Nogales native made the SEC All-Freshman Team in 2021 after hitting .337 with two homers for the Rebels, the second-highest batting average on the team and fourth-best among SEC freshmen. Biringer had four hits in two games against Arizona in the Tucson Regional last May.
I’m coming back home! ❤️

I have decided to continue my academic and softball career at the University of Arizona. I love what this program represents. Thank you Coach Cait for giving me such an amazing opportunity.

Before enrolling at Ole Miss, Biringer was a top-60 recruit out of Cienega High School in Vail, Arizona. She was three-time all-state and hit .720 in her COVID-shortened senior season.
A speedy left-handed hitter, Biringer started at second base at Ole Miss but played shortstop in high school. The Wildcats lost Jessie Harper (shortstop), Reyna Carranco (second base) and Malia Martinez (third) to graduation, so Biringer should be able to make an instant impact.
She is the second Tucson-area transfer the Cats have added this offseason. In August, they added Seattle U grad transfer Bailey Thompson, an All-WAC catcher and Canyon del Oro product.
